Description

Beren and Luthien; the most celebrated couple in Elvenese. Their story is fully told in the Lay of Leithian, Release from Bondage, the second longest epic poem in Elven poetry. Further information: [link]

Here I will speak about the physical differences between Men and Elves, as you can see in this portraiture. But first consider the fact that Elves and Men could copulate and produce Half-elves, so this proves that Elves and Men are more alike inside than they are different outside.

First of all, Elves are longeval beings, not immortal as the popular terminology is confounded. Elves may die by violence and grief. Yet, Elves are not subject to sickness and diseases. Elven skin is not merely pale, but white as porcelain and snow, and not subject to the changes of sunshine and weather. While, the skin of Men may be sun-kissed, it has more hair on various parts of the body than Elven.

Men may build up muscle mass, while Elves could not. Hence, Elves are seen as tall and slender beings. Elves tend to keep their hair long beyond their shoulders because of Elven tradition. Elves belonging to the Eldar, especially the Noldorin race living in Endor, possess a light of divinity in their faces called the Light of Valinor due to their visitation of Aman, the land of Valarian gods. This divine light is inherited with the Numenorean men and subsequently the Edain of Endor.

In this portraiture, both Beren and Luthien possessed black hair, but Elven hair could be so dark it turns blue. Beren has blue eyes, while Luthien has grey as is the norm with the Sindarin elves.

This is really beautiful! I love your style, and I think it really stands out because I personally haven't seen anything similar in the Tolkien fandom. Your character designs for them are really wonderful, I love the colors and detail. I can also appreciate how you put alot of thought into the Men vs. Elves anatomy.
